Interesting. But I thought Lee always said the power (apart from the chi) was really generated from the hip rotation. Pure mastery of body mechanics. The faster the hip rotation (think golf swing, tennis stroke, or baseball hitter), the more power generated.

I think in the video, one of the instructors was saying that you can implement the one inch punch through internal power (chi) and/or external power (hip rotation, body alignment, torque generation.

External power is probably a lot easier to teach and practice, because you just have to get the body mechanics and timing down right.

But if you look at the clips of people doing the one inch punch, you actually don't see much hip rotation at all.
